monday, tuesday : civilian behaviour. school, the humdrum, the daily grind, except coryo is the chauffeur of my suburban dreams, picking me up in the mornings like a perfectly curated boyfriend playlist, and we drive to school, me, unbothered, in the passenger seat of destiny. i love hiiimmmm. but wednesday. wednesday !!!

12pm . . . musée d'orsay, because of course he knows me. at a cafe, he sneaks another charm onto the coffee plate. a beauty and the beast rose. i stare at him like he invented romance. i am giggling. i am twirling my hair. i am about to FAINT from love.

1pm . . . rue saint-honoré. he drags me into miu miu (i want to sob), buys me the little nappa hair clips, and then clips one into my hair outside before kissing my forehead. this man is a disease and i am not looking for a cure. 4pm . . . we share airpods, clairo’s ‘juna’ plays, he spins me around on the street, and at this point, i am beyond salvation. send help. (don’t send help.) I LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM I LOVE HIM. he takes like 100 pictures of me, and i swat him a few times. like....tenderly.

dinner : a boat restaurant, eiffel tower views, romance so potent it should be illegal. dessert comes with a love letter. this man. this fucker. i hate him. i love him. (six times over.) actually, seven. i love hiiimmmm.

by the time we're walking back to our hotel, he wraps his scarf around my hair like i'm a 60s french heroine.

I know it might seem counterintuitive, impractical, and perhaps even downright foolish. But it has been consistently true for me and the people around me.

The same is true for money.

Money is energy. It just happens to have physical manifestations like coins, bills or gold.

Love too is energy. It just happens to have physical manifestations like kisses, words or gifts.

And it is common knowledge that if we wish to be loved, we must first love ourselves, and give love freely to those who are worth it. We must let love flow through us.

Same with money. If we want to have it, we must first spend it on ourselves and give it freely to those we deem worth it. We must let money flow through us.

And flow it will.

Just as it is nearly impossible for a cold-hearted person to invite love, it is also very hard for a stingy person to invite money.

I have seen this first-hand many times.

This man owned a boutique advertising agency. He gave out bonuses and free international trips to his team the way corporations give out cheap pizzas to their employees. And back then, this man's business thrived. Some months, he made more than global agencies did. And the awards were pouring in too. He was on top of the world.

Suddenly, his elderly mother got terribly sick, and he panicked. He knew he had to spend a fortune on her medical bills, and his fear got the best of him. So he cancelled the free trips. He stopped giving bonuses. Eventually, he even cut down salaries and moved to a smaller office.

One year later, his business went bankrupt. Because all his talented employees left. And with that, the trust of his clients dried out. His business — which had the potential to become an empire — ended up becoming just a TikTok trend.

Because he held on to money too tightly... money felt suffocated and walked out on him entirely.

The opposite example is me. No, I do not also own an ad agency. But I have learned to never worry about money. And since then, money has never disappointed me.

Last year, someone dear to me had been praying for a MacBook, but her parents couldn't afford it. I too couldn't afford it. Not without digging into my savings. So I did. Because I know money will always come back to me. And it did.

And it is like this every time.

Best places to shop designer?

If you love vintage, look at Japan. Especially for vintage Louis Vuitton bags & cases.

It’s affordable, it’s easy to find and fun to shop for, and it’s actually a great time sourcing pieces. I’ve never spent more than $400 on a piece, and everything I’ve bought has been high quality. I’ve bought some dream pieces of mine, and part of what makes the process so fun is taking the time to find what you want. I bought my Croissant, my Speedy 30, my Pochette, Holdall, Toiletry Bag, and Neverfull for less than $300 each, and aside from conditioning the leather, they’re in perfect condition. I’d strongly recommend looking at Japan’s vintage market if you love Louis Vuitton.

Japan is pretty much the best place to look for any designer items, and the vintage market is the best I’ve ever experienced. The yen is also weak compared to the American dollar, so you’re getting more while spending less. I’ve seen a lot of really nice Chanel and Fendi as well; the more popular bags tend to be bought quickly, but it’s easy to find them, and it’s easier to find rare items on the Japanese retail market than it is to find them on the American market. It’s also very easy to find Hermès scarves and other small items; I love buying small things, and I’m not willing to spend $700 on something I can easily find on the Japanese market for $70. It takes skill but again, the hunt is always fun.

I will say that there are brands I’d avoid and certain stores as well. All of my bags have come with receipts and certifications of authenticity that have held up to the authentication process I put them through here in America. The one thing I’d recommend against purchasing is badly made costume jewelry; it’s not worth it at all, and Chanel costume jewelry is very cheaply made and then marked up to obscene prices. I can make a post about where to shop, what’s trendy and what I’d recommend buying, customs/paying, and how I style the things that I’ve purchased so far. when you carry yourself in whatever fashion that happens to be, imagine a logo plastered all over yourself. who’s attention do you want to grab with that logo? you’re showing potential employers, friends, love interests, what they’ll be getting when in collaboration with you. so this. this is what’s important about branding.

alhaitham wouldn’t be the type of person to spend money on luxury products, but if he were to, he would choose prada. he thinks they are the most subtle in comparison to louis vuitton. with the sharp triangle branding that looks good in both gold and silver, it fits him. 

he likes their loafers and messenger bags. on occasion, if he feels like it, he might buy himself a new coat (only if the time calls for it, and if it will make kaveh a little more jealous of his financial freedom).

he would look good with a saint laurent partner.

kaveh on the other hand, would be an hermes kind of person. while the man can only dream about being able to buy enough pieces to own the infamous birkin bag, he appreciates the leather and shape the bag has. some might call it ugly but he thinks it would look perfect as a work bag. 

like alhaitham, he likes their loafers and bags. he’s not the type of person to want to splurge on luxury brands, so he’s more of a window shopper than anything.

xiao would be a chrome hearts person 100%, no doubt about it. from the leather to the intricate silver decorations that adorn each piece, it screams his name, beckoning him. every month, he sets aside a little bit of money to eventually afford some of his favorite pieces (most of the time, he’ll buy secondhand). 

he doesn’t mess around with the cheap hoodies with the chrome hearts branding, he goes all out and wears his favorite leather jackets and charm necklaces.

lumine would be the picture-perfect definition of a dior model. definitely not their flashier pieces but she is a longtime fan of their older designs. similarly, with kaveh, something she cares about is the silhouette, and with their more vintage dresses, she adores their elegance.

she likes their saddle bag and dresses (if they are haute couture, of course, she would never be caught dead wearing a loud t-shirt that says dior, she’s a classy girl). she would also be the type of person to wear the famous “miss dior” perfume. 

she would look good with a chanel or tiffany partner.
